IPL consists of sophisticated flash gun that is flashed into the treatment area, heating and killing the bacteria that exacerbates acne, heating the sebaceous glands causing them to reduce the amount of pore-clogging sebum, and stimulating the production of collagen to help the skin mend.

This process is repeated over the entire treatment area. Over the next weeks, the area may improve. though it may get worse during the first couple of treatments! In due course, the area improves.

An average of 3-6 treatments are usually required about 1-2 weeks apart, but maintenance treatments may be required as required, as the condition may be affected by hereditary and environmental factors.
